Privacy Policy

We at Popsoc Travel Limited (“we”, “us”, “our” or “company”) take the storage and care of how your personal information is used and shared seriously. By visiting, accessing or using the Popsoc application (“App”) and website, here forth both collectively referred to as services; you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy. For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998, we are the data controller, in so far as limited to functional ability within our services and does not extend to the functionality marketed and or integrated in our services provided by or belonging to our affiliates and 3rd party partners.

What does this privacy policy cover?

This Privacy Policy refers to our treatment of personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) that we collect when you use our services. This policy does not apply to the companies that we do not own or control (including any third-party products or services used for logging into the app or that are integrated for service within the app), or to individuals that we do not employ or manage.

What personal information do we collect?

The information we gather allows our customers to set up a user account and profile that can be used to personalise their experience from our services and improve our service capabilities. We collect the following types of information from our customers:

Customer Provided Personal Information

This encompasses user submitted information entered in our app or provided to us in any other way submitted by our customers. This information may include customer name, email address, gender, date of birth, IP address, location, browser information, username, password, and any other information necessary provided our services. Personal Information includes users’ name, email address, and other information the customer entered could be displayed to other users to facilitate group trips within the services. Email addresses and or Facebook provided data are used to add new participants to group trips. Submitted information for user profiles allows for communication to other users in group trips. Customer’s email addresses will not be directly revealed to other users by us, except, when the user has been invited into a group travel trip “pop” via other travellers either directly or indirectly through mutual association.

Any Personal Information you submit by messaging capabilities including the App message board, we are not responsible for. The use of the messaging capabilities is purely up to the customer discretion and we suggest limiting Personal Information submitted as this information is visible to all participants within the specific planned group trip. If you do not wish for your personal information to be posted or distributed in this manner, you should not participate in the message board.

The customer can choose not to provide us with certain information, in which case this may limit the experience and functionality of our service. Contact support@popsoc.com for further guidance.

Communication in response to User Submissions

As part of our services, customers will receive from us emails and other communications relating to our services and products. We may receive automatic confirmation when you open an email from us, providing your mobile device or computer offers this functionality. This allows us to review and improve our services and communications to our customers. You acknowledge and agree that by providing such user submissions, we may send you emails and other communication that we determine in our sole discretion relates to your user submissions. The customer can always opt out of receiving emails from us by following the instructions to unsubscribe, generally found in the footer of our emails.

Automatically Collected Personal Information

When you interact with our services we automatically receive and record certain types of information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, cookie information, browser information, operating system, timestamps, and the interaction processes used and the paths on how you interact with our services.

This data is generally used in aggregate form in the following manner, such as the numbers and frequency of visitors to our app and how they use and interact its various components and processes. As such the data does not focus on individuals and would not be used to identify a customer individually. The aggregation of data enables us to analyze how customers use our services so that we improve our services to be more useful and appealing to current and potential customers. As part of this use of information, we may provide aggregate information to our partners about how our customers, collectively, use our services. We share this type of statistical data so that our partners may also provide you with an optimal service experience. We would never disclose aggregate information to a partner in a manner that would identify an individual.

Cookies

Cookies are small piece of data sent from a website and stored in a user’s web browser while the user is browsing that website. The website is then notified of the user once the user loads the website again.

Most Internet browsers allow switching off of the cookies functionality, this stops your browser from accepting new cookies, and/or allows the customer to decide on allowing for new cookies. We recommend that you have the cookies functionality activated, as this allows for you to take full advantage our services and provides us with information to further improve our services and personalise our content that we may provide to you.

Ads on our services may have cookies from our advertising partners. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer or other device each time they send you an online advertisement to compile information about you or others who use your computer or device. This data allows for targeted advertisements that may be of increased interest to you. This Privacy Policy does not cover the use of cookies by any advertising partners.

Bookings

If you book through our services, and the final seller (“Host”) confirms a booking we may share some data of the User’s personal Information with the Host, including, but not limited to, full name (including travellers booked on their behalf), location and email address so that that the User and Host may contact one another directly. The amount of user data shared will depend on how the affiliate partner or Hosts systems are integrated with our own. We don’t collect or store our customer’s payment information including credit card details, this is provided directly to our affiliate partner or Host and not us through their systems integration within our services or through linkage to the Host’s website site through in-app internet browser support.

Our service contains content provided by our affiliate partners, in some cases such as booking flights through our Skyscanner affiliate service this may in term contain links to third party websites outside of our affiliate partners. In order to book flights and other products, you will provide personal data to the operators of such websites (including, without limitation, Booking Partners). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites, therefore we suggest you read the privacy policies of the 3rd party providers that you submit personal data to.

Sharing of your personal information

We take the use and storage of Personal Information about our customers seriously. We don’t rent or sell our customers Personal Information to anyone. We may however share your Personal Information to our partners or 3rd parties.

Advertisers

Potential Advertisers on our services may use personal information provided by us that we have collected from our customers in order to target our customers specifically based on queries or potential interests. 

Affiliated Partners Businesses

We are affiliated with a variety of companies in order to provide a superior group travel experience. These affiliates may sell products to our customers you through our services such as flights and hotels. We may also jointly provide products to our customers with our affiliated businesses. We may share your Personal Information that is related to such potential transactions with our affiliated partners.

Transfer of Business

We may in the future sell or buy assets. If a transaction of this type occurs, Personal Information from our customers may be transferred. Further to this if we, or substantially all of our assets were acquired, or in the unlikely event that we goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, customer information could be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of our company or its assets may continue to use your Personal Information as per this policy.

Release of Data for our Protection

We may release Personal Information to protect Popsoc in accordance with the law; in good faith; enforce or apply our conditions of use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of our company, our employees, our users, or other stakeholders. Examples of this may include the release of information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and/or credit risk.

Protection of your Personal Information

Your Personal Information is protected by a password for your privacy and security. You need to ensure that there is no unauthorized access to your account and Personal Information by selecting and protecting your password appropriately and limiting access to your mobile device and other device(s) by signing out after you have finished using our services.

We endeavor to protect user information to ensure that user account information is kept private, however, we cannot guarantee the security of user account information. As information transferred over the internet and mobile networks is never entirely secure. As such we cannot guarantee the security of information submitted via our services and accordingly any information submitted is at your own risk.

Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors, may compromise the security of user information at any time.

Our services are integrated with our partners and affiliates this includes links to their websites and content. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and practices on other sites. When using services and content of our affiliated partners and 3rd parties you should read their privacy policy as our Privacy Policy only governs Personal Information collected on our services.

Access to your Personal Information.

We allow you to access the following your following Personal Information for purpose of viewing, updating and deleting your information.

  • First and last name
  • Username / Email Address
  • Password
  • User profile information

Opting Out

You may at anytime opt-out of receiving communications from us by following the email unsubscribe procedures. Also you may at your request ask for the deletion of your personal information in your profile. We may however retain this information in aggregate and anonymous form.

 

Changes to Popsoc’s Privacy Policy.

From time to time we may at our sole discretion make changes to this Privacy Policy. We will endeavor to notify the user of changes by email, however users are advised to check the privacy policy regularly for changes. The use of our services will constitute acceptance of changes to the Privacy Policy. Therefore by using our services after those changes become effective, you are agreeing to be bound by the revised policy.
